Prepared to be enchanted…
Set in the Lower Pollet of St Peter Port, experience the unique and authentic french cuisine in truly stunning surroundings.
“l’atmosphere ?...” in the style of an old parisian bistro : rustic, electric, and romantic, you can even hear the accordion playing in the back ground. Mademoiselle Delphine Auder, front house manageress and partner, and all her charming staff sound like Catherine Deneuve or Jean Reno.
“et voila!...” you are in France! the restaurant can seat up to 70 people, which includes a private dinning room upstairs.
Behind the scenes there s a wizard with his magic whisk. Mickael Pesrin, head chef and partner, creates a bubbling cuisine. Inspired by the seasons and local suppliers, Mickael is always looking for new ideas. Specials from the blackboard change weekly, such as the set lunch (£ 10.95) and the early dinner (£ 11.95 – between 6 and 7 pm). The spirit of france is in every plate, board or casserole… He loves using produce like rabbit, pig trotters, partridge or sweet breads. However the reputation of the restaurant has been earned by its specialities : coq au vin, tournedos facon rossini, frog legs, onion soup, cote de boeuf (very thick rib of beef), and coquille st jaques.
The story wouldn't’ be complete without the extensive wine list. Discover the multiples wine of Burgundy, Loire Valley, Cotes du Roussillon or Bordeaux areas. Every references is been carefully chosen to be in harmony with Mickael’s dishes : it’s a firework of pleasure : some of the wine are perfumed with hints of plums licorice and spices, some other with acacia and white peach or with toffee…
Then, “la crème de la crème”, be tempted at the end of your meal by the range of calvados, from Normandy, armagnac (the oldest “eaux de vie” in France) or cognac (from Charentes).
